Strategy type games for example like these web-based games Travian, Ogame, KingsAge, Ikariam. We can learn from these games about how the strategy games work on web. But I have some other ideas to make this strategy game more interesting and user friendly.
Gameplay
Gameplay works like this: Resources exist (like trees, iron mines, Stone, food) and they are given to you as a function of infrastructure you have built over long swaths of time (like, hours). The purpose of this is to make people log on every day or several times a day, over weeks and weeks to maintain your kingdom. Use these resources to build further infrastructure, which in turn either generates more resources, or allows you to build a stronger military. You are then encouraged to attack other players using this military. The main juice of the game is the level system that brings the completion between players and on each level, they will get something unlock and it can be (new weapons, special army, more resources and buildings).
This is where the game starts to fall apart. As there is essentially an indomitable amount of players in the game, you can’t hope to destroy them all. The only reward for attacking others is further resources, but the amount of resources you raid are almost certainly less than the resources it took to create the military you lost during the raid. There is no endgame, only an endless series of skirmishes, which are in them, unsatisfying.
So we need to continuously update the gameplay and bring new things in it. The people can remain attach with it and wait for the new things to unlock. What I am thinking is to add ages that with the level system players need to upgrade their ages (Ages means new age like we played in ages of empire).
The gameplay will based on the map and it will be the static map. In which we have the center of the town and space for other buildings around it. We can help our neighbors in resources, army and also can trade with them. We can make alliance and fight help each other in attack. Lots more can add in it. But we need to write the story of this game first and then out development will follow it.
Technology use in web based games
Server Side scripting language we need like PHP. We need to use open source technology to save the cost as much as we can. So we go for the best performance in cheap rate. All other things we can decide.
Business Model of Web Based Game
The game will be free to play, nothing is restricted, and no ads are served anywhere. However, there are premium services you can buy for a micro-payment. The first form of these is an increase in the rate at which you generate resources. Essentially player can pay to gain a direct competitive edge. The reason this is horrendous because it complete destroys game balance by giving players that are willing to pay a substantial advantage over those who are not willing to pay. Player then have the choice to shell out a few dollars for more resources per hour (but only for a week, after which point player need to pay again!), or can get slaughtered by those who will. From a design standpoint, this is exceptionally poor.
Even worse than this however, is the “Premium Account” bonus. If player give an amount of money which is roughly equivalent to bumping up the production of every resource in the game, we give player access to a better user interface. We will develop a user interface which will be better than the default one: it provides a build queue so that player doesn’t need to log in every time, something it finishes building to start the next build, gives more detailed information about combat, a better layout with details about when players stockpiles will be full, what time you’ll be able to build something at current rates of production, etc. We will build these things, but they shall hold them from players unless they pay us. Even if they pay us, player only get them for a week, and then they have to pay us again. That will be our main stream of revenue. And the ideas will come in our mind when we get in it.
Global and Localize
We will launch it as many languages we can, should say thanks to Google translate API. I am thinking of 52 languages at least.
Build the community
Build the community means we need players to play in raw we need traffic so we can get something out of it. So the strategy in mind is to use the power of social media like Facebook, twitter and others. They will help us to bring the traffic on use and the second thing is the presentation of our site means UI. As we don’t have that much finance so will not go for the advertising on internet until we earn something. After few months earning will go for the advertising. Second thing I have a lots friends in internet business in UK and USA i talked them about it, they showing their interest in helping me that will be great. Most important thing that we need start email marketing that will not costly and also we will ask new signups to invite your friends through their messenger contact list like many web sites do.
Brand Image
We need to make the brand image that’s the most important thing to identify the key attributes those are making us unique and promote them. If we talk about the recipe of the games have traffic and making Millions of Dollars is due to their brand image. They satisfy their customer with bringing many features for the. We need change the way of web gaming to bring the coolest game from every perspective. Selection of name and slogan have the major role in it.
Everything looks good. In order to develop and test such a game needs months months of work and resources.
